New $4.3M air traffic control tower open for business at Lynchburg Regional Airport
After over a year of construction, Lynchburg Regional Airport’s new air traffic control tower came to life for the first time at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. Constructed right next to the old structure, the $4.3 million tower features significant upgrades to the control panels and systems, a more efficiently laid-out cab and a 10-foot higher overall structure, which provides more visibility.
